Privacy policy
This policy describes how the GuitarFriend app (“we”, AC Factory) handles data when you use the tuner, chords, and songbook on Android.
1. Controller
GuitarFriend is operated in connection with guitarfriend.musoft.cl. For privacy questions, write to acgamesfactory@gmail.com.
We do not create a user account on our servers. The app is not tied to a GuitarFriend login.
2. Data we process
Depending on how you use the app, we may process:
- On the device: tuning and settings (language, notation, handedness, tuners, A440, etc.), progressions, songs, lyrics, and custom chords, stored in a local SQLite database.
- Microphone: used only on the Tune tab to detect pitch. Audio is processed on the phone and is not sent to our servers.
- Camera: used only if you scan a QR code to receive a GuitarFriend file. Images are not uploaded to our servers.
-
Files you share or receive:
.gfriendpackages (songs, progressions, or chords) that you send or open from another app. They travel through the channel you choose (WhatsApp, Drive, etc.), not through our servers. - Android backup: if it is enabled on the phone (same Google account and the same app package), the system may copy the local database to Google’s cloud. Android manages that, not a GuitarFriend login.
- Advertising: the device advertising ID (AAID) and ad interaction data, processed by Google AdMob and measurement partners, according to your phone and Google Play privacy settings.
We do not request contacts, GPS location, or a GuitarFriend account. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Why we use it
- Tune the instrument and remember your preferences.
- Store and show your chord and song library.
- Let you share or receive
.gfriendfiles or a QR code. - Show ads and measure their performance (AdMob).
4. Providers
We use Google AdMob (ads) and, for distribution, Google Play. If Android Backup is on, Google may store the system copy. Those providers process data under their own terms. More information: Google Privacy Policy and AdMob privacy.
5. Retention
Library data stays on the phone until you uninstall the app (and, if applicable, in Android Backup). We do not keep a copy of yours on GuitarFriend servers. You can delete the library in the app or by uninstalling; to avoid restoring it on a new phone, turn off backup for this app in Android or delete the app’s data in your Google account.
6. Advertising
The app shows a banner via Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may use the advertising ID and related technical data. You can limit personalization in Android privacy settings (for example, delete the advertising ID).
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google UMP (User Messaging Platform) may show a consent form before ads are requested. If the message requires it, Settings › About includes Privacy options so you can change that choice. We do not request ads without valid consent.
There are no in-app purchases today.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child provided data to us, please contact us.
8. Security
We apply reasonable measures on the device (size limits when importing files, format checks). No system is 100% secure.
9. Your rights
Depending on your country, you may request information about processing. Because we have no account and no copy on our servers, what is on the phone is under your control (clear data or uninstall). For ads, use Android / Google controls. Write to acgamesfactory@gmail.com.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will reflect the change. Continued use of the app after a material change means you have been informed at this URL.
